Everyone is different, but when it comes to the start of the New Year we all seem to have one common thought - what are my goals this year?


Since becoming a realtor, I’ve had a lot more conversations with friends on homeownership. A recurring topic that comes up is the idea that it seems too good to be true to own a home in your 20’s. Most of my friends currently rent or live back at home with their parents. Homeownership is a dream for the future, but why can’t it become a reality now?


Almost exactly three years ago, my husband and I were newly engaged and talking seriously about buying a home. Rent prices were going up from their already expensive rates, and although the thought of owning a home was daunting, we believed this would be a smarter financial decision.


Getting Started 


Looking back, the hardest part was getting started. This was before I worked with the Apex Group, so neither of us knew the process of buying a home. We contacted John Tae and he scheduled a meeting with another one of his agents, Brian Cavaleri, to go over the homebuying process. Even after this one meeting, we felt more excited about finding a home. Things moved a lot quicker than we anticipated, and we were homeowners by April of 2020. 


It’s insane to think that I had bought my first home at 26. Homeownership was always a dream of mine, but having the knowledge and support from experienced professionals helped make it a reality. With rent prices having gone up even more since a few years ago, we are extremely satisfied with our decision.
